Description
A particularly special suit made of Escorial wool, an elevated alternative to cashmere that comes from a super-rare type of sheep originally kept by Spanish royalty. Soft and supple, with springy, coiled fibers that naturally resist wrinkling, it’s sourced from the only direct descendants of the original Escorial flock, which are now bred in small pockets of Australia and New Zealand. Talk about special. And speaking of special, this suit is our No. 4 make, almost fully handmade, which means more time in our Neapolitan tailors’ hands. In fact, the jacket alone requires a full ten hours’ worth of tailoring before it leaves the workshop. The shoulder, lining, darts, buttonholes, buttons, and several other elements are sewn by hand, and you can feel it when you put it on. It’s almost like the seams move with you. We built the Kincaid model with a soft (read: natural) shoulder, a 2-button front, and a shorter, darted body with some tracing to it, for a fit that’s slimmish but never skinny. The trousers, too, are designed to complement the jacket, with a trim-but-not-tight leg that looks great with a cuff. They’ve also got a dak waistband with adjuster tabs that give the whole suit a more trussed-up look. While we always go for an American-Italian blend, the cut of the Kincaid suit leans a bit more sartoria than the rest. But just like all of our tailored clothing, it’s designed to take you from Mississippi to Milan — and back again — without looking or feeling out of place.
