Nontron knives have been made by hand in the same tiny village in southwestern France since the 16th century — they run the oldest continuously operating cutlery in the country, so safe to say they’ve perfected the tradition by now. Each knife is created by a single craftsman who oversees the entire 40-step process from start to finish. This is a set of six everyday (read: dishwasher-safe) steak knives. They’ve got yatagan-style, stainless steel blades that curve slightly forward and handles made from compressed fabric, which is a super-durable composite made from natural cotton mixed with resin.
