For a lot of people, Diptyque makes the quintessential “status candle” — their entire product line is storied, French, and beautifully packaged. Of course, it all smells pretty fantastic, too. L’Ombre Dans L’Eau is the scent of freshly picked blackcurrants, with notes of green leaves and rose. (It’s also the perfume equivalent of Baies, the company’s most popular candle.) And while a lot of eaux de toilette are just less-concentrated versions of eaux de parfum, Diptyque actually tweaks the balance of the notes to give the scent a crisper, lighter dimension. This means the two formulations work well in tandem… a lot of us like the EDT for daytime and the EDP for evening, but fly your own kite!
